Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Prep Academy Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Johnson Ferry Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cornerstone Prep Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Seth Bledsoe. The Cougars came out on top against the Saints by a score of 76-65 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Bledsoe, who dropped a double-double with 38 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cornerstone Prep Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Stone, who posted three points and seven steals. He has become a key player for Cornerstone Prep Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-5 otherwise.

Trent Witte and David Cannon certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Witte dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards, while Cannon put up 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The contest was Cannon's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Toby Strech, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Cornerstone Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Cornerstone Prep Academy and Dominion Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 12:15 p.m. on January 3, 2026. Johnson Ferry Christian Academy and Cherokee Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
