Soccer Recap: Wilbur Cross Comes Up Short

Wilbur Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Xavier Falcons, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Wilbur Cross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while Xavier are ranked fourth).

Wilbur Cross' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-8-2. As for Xavier, they pushed their record up to 16-2-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Wilbur Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Xavier, they will welcome Fairfield Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
