Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Bears vs. Grosse Ile Red Devils

Jefferson is 2-8 against Grosse Ile since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jefferson Bears will face off against the Grosse Ile Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson will be strutting in after a victory while Grosse Ile will be coming in after a defeat.

Jefferson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Huron 41-38. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Grosse Ile was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 37-28 to Riverview. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Pirates are ranked 195th).

Jefferson's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Grosse Ile, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Jefferson lost to Grosse Ile on the road by a decisive 61-43 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
