Softball Recap: Randle's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Randle). They blew past the Victoria West Warriors 11-5 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Alysa Chapa was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. Chapa was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Randle let Madilynn Humphrey and Kirra Washington run wild. Humphrey went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Washington scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave Washington a new career-high in hits. Aleena ?CoCo? Moppin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Randle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Randle's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Victoria West, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Randle has already played their next game, an 11-7 loss against Terry on the 11th. As for Victoria West, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 defeat against Victoria East on the 11th.
