Basketball Recap: Wagener-Salley Takes a Loss

Wagener-Salley's game on Wednesday was all tied up 11-11 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pelion Panthers. The game marked the War Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kolton Rogers was nothing short of spectacular for Pelion: he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Rogers a new career-high in steals (five). Jayden Fields was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Wagener-Salley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pelion, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Wagener-Salley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Branchville at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Pelion, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Whitmire at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
