Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Township Tigers vs. Culver Community Cavaliers

The Tri-Township Tigers will take on the Culver Community Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Tri-Township and 16 for Culver Community.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-26, which was the final score in Tri-Township's tilt against Trinity Greenlawn on Saturday.

Despite their loss, Tri-Township saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kade Koselke, who posted nine points and six boards, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most points Koselke has posted since back in February of 2024. Chance Ringle also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

Meanwhile, Culver Community played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by North Judson-San Pierre and fell 49-20. The Cavaliers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-1.

Despite the defeat, Culver Community saw an underclassman step up: freshman Braylon Jackson scored 12 points.

Culver Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Tri-Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Tri-Township ended up a good deal behind Culver Community in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 72-58. Can Tri-Township avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
