Union Mine entered their tilt with El Dorado on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Diamondbacks have posted since August 28th.

Union Mine was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-105), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 17-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Kyra Wooden paced Union Mine's offense, picking up 18 kills. Wooden really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 25. Ella Heuer and Allison Eschleman kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with six aces apiece.

Despite the loss, El Dorado still got an impressive performance from Hailey Kroeker, who had 16 digs and three aces. Alice Ripley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Union Mine's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for El Dorado, with the defeat, they broke their eight-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. After both having extra time off, Union Mine and Woodland will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Dorado, they will host Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
