Baseball Recap: Lathrop Spartans vs. Los Banos Tigers
Lathrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Los Banos Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lathrop of the 9-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Monday.
Chris Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run.
On Los Banos' side, Jackson Silva made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Silva has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Silva was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
