Volleyball Recap: Golden Sierra Takes a Loss

Golden Sierra lost against Mesa Verde back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Grizzlies fell 3-1 to the Mavericks. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-21 in the first set.

Golden Sierra started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.

Tyrel Robertson paced Golden Sierra's offense, picking up 13 kills. Robertson got some help from Will Drescher and his 22 assists.

Golden Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mesa Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Golden Sierra has already played their next game (against Woodland Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Mesa Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Casa Roble on the 22nd.
