Volleyball Recap: North Port Bobcats vs. Port Charlotte Pirates
North Port was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Port Charlotte Pirates, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
North Port was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-9, 25-23.
Sofia Cubillan paced North Port's offense, picking up five kills. Cubillan got some help from Kelsea Surran and her four assists. Jaden Davis controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
North Port's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Port will venture away from home to square off against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Port Charlotte, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Parrish Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
