Softball Recap: West Warwick Finds Home Field Redemption Against Woonsocket

There's no place like home for West Warwick, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Woonsocket Villa Novans on Monday as they made off with a 19-0 win. Considering the Wizards have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryce Principe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Adrianna Carsetti was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Walsh, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

West Warwick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

West Warwick now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Woonsocket, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

West Warwick didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-5 victory against Portsmouth on the 29th. As for Woonsocket, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-3 loss against Lincoln on the 29th.
