Recap: Penns Manor Comets vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons
The Penns Manor Comets won the last time they faced the Purchase Line Red Dragons, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Penns Manor snuck past Purchase Line with a 51-45 win.
It was another big night for Carter Smith, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alex Polenik, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Purchase Line saw an underclassman step up: Stephen Perruso scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. AJ Chambers was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Penns Manor's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Purchase Line, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Penns Manor will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northern Cambria at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Purchase Line will finish 2023 at home by hosting Harmony Area at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
