The Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks will square off against the Coronado Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Coronado took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Desert Sunrise, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Desert Sunrise turned things around against Cortez last Wednesday. They secured a 46-40 W over the Colts.

Tessani Montgomery was a one-woman wrecking crew for Desert Sunrise as she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Montgomery a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Shayla Hill, who almost dropped a double-double on nine rebounds and 11 steals.

Meanwhile, Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Dysart, falling 47-19.

Desert Sunrise's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-10. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
