Baseball Game Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

The Wickliffe Blue Devils will face off against the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wickliffe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

On Saturday, Wickliffe beat Pymatuning Valley 10-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Frankie Bucar was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Wickliffe's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Ludvik, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Chagrin Falls had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-3.

Wickliffe's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Chagrin Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 12-15.
