Softball Game Preview: Honeoye Bulldogs vs. Naples Big Green Machines

For the first time this season, Honeoye will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Naples Big Green Machines at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Honeoye is leaving town to face Naples after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Honeoye lost 17-5 to Livonia on Tuesday.

Naples not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024. They blew past Hammondsport 14-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Big Green Machines considering their one-run performance the game before.

Emily Lester spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, Erica Reigelsperger was a standout: she scored five runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayce Hebding, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Honeoye couldn't quite get it done against Naples when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 11-7. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
