Baseball Recap: La Canada Victorious

After losing to South Pasadena the last time they met, La Canada decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The La Canada Spartans walked away with an 11-8 win over the South Pasadena Tigers on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Cash Carroll and Ross Piken made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Carroll tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Piken tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Carroll scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Piken scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Will Park was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-5. La Canada is undefeated when Park posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Taylor Parrille was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

La Canada's record is now 3-6. As for South Pasadena, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.

Looking ahead, La Canada will take on Agoura at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Pasadena, they will host Temple City at 3:30 p.m. on March 17th.
