Volleyball Recap: JW North Huskies vs. Fullerton Indians
JW North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fullerton Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Saturday.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, JW North sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 22-25, 15-8.
Their offense was headlined by Renzo Paunil and Christopher Mendieta, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Antonio Solorzano and his 19 assists. Finally, Ernesto Munoz kept JW North's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
JW North's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Fullerton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Looking ahead, JW North will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Citrus Hill at 5:15 p.m. Citrus Hill will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something JW North surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fullerton, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Troy on the 1st.
