Volleyball Preview: Braswell Bengals vs. Coppell Cowboys
Braswell hasn't had much luck against Coppell recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Braswell was able to grind out a solid win over Marcus, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bengals.
Braswell was especially dominant in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14.
Jayla McDuffie and Areli Castillo were among the main playmakers for Braswell as the former had 27 digs and the latter had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Castillo has posted since back in September.
Braswell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marcus only served six.
Meanwhile, Coppell had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Little Elm 3-0 on Tuesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.
Braswell's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-20. As for Coppell, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
