First Flight gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They blew past the Northeastern Eagles 15-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Nighthawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Avery Winslow made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Winslow was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, McKenzie Dexter was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Schuyler Wilson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Northeastern dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
