Softball Recap: Marion Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Marion took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Valley View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blazers on Tuesday, sneaking past 9-7. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Marion pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Valley View, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blazers beat Marion by a score of 16-4 later that day.
