Soccer Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Marshall and Harper Creek meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Redhawks lost 4-1 to the Beavers. While losing is never fun, Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Harper Creek are ranked 30th).

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Harper Creek, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marshall will welcome Lakeview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harper Creek, they will challenge Pennfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
