Softball Recap: Teaneck Beats Passaic for Their Third Straight Win

Teaneck had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They put the hurt on the Passaic Indians with a sharp 14-3 victory. This was payback for the Highwaymen, who suffered an 18-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Olivia Rottner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Teaneck got a massive performance out of Adelyn Perez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. What's more, Perez posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jazlin Muniz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Teaneck was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .613. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Teaneck's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Passaic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Teaneck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Passaic, they will take on Bergen Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
