Softball Recap: Etna Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Etna came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Hoopa Valley Warriors with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Lions have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lila Jones was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kami Hyatt, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Etna pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hoopa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Etna beat the Warriors by a score of 8-3 later that day.
