Volleyball Game Preview: Morgan Trojans vs. Ben Lomond Scots

After both having extra time off, the Morgan Trojans and the Ben Lomond Scots will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan will be strutting in after a victory while Ben Lomond will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Morgan turned things around against West Field last Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Longhorns.

Morgan walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17.

Morgan can attribute much of their success to Caleb Stephens, who had eight digs, two blocks, and two aces, and Ryker Field, who had 12 digs. Stephens has been hot, having also posted 18 or more assists the last seven times he's played.

Meanwhile, Ben Lomond came up short against Grantsville last Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-21.

Ben Lomond's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Morgan, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything went Morgan's way against Ben Lomond when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Morgan made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
