Basketball Recap: Wingate Takes a Loss

Wingate was the 50-43 winner over Frank J. Macchiarola when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wingate Generals were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 62-61 to the Frank J. Macchiarola Sharks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), the Generals still had to take the loss.

Wingate's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Frank J. Macchiarola, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wingate will face off against Brooklyn College Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wingate knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Brooklyn College Academy likes a good challenge. As for Frank J. Macchiarola, they will take on Prospect Heights at 4:30 p.m. on January 24th.
