Basketball Recap: Emily Moore Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Newcomerstown

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Shenandoah's strategy against Newcomerstown on Saturday. The Shenandoah Zeps strolled past the Newcomerstown Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 56-41. The Zeps haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Shenandoah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Moore out in front who dropped a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Molly Van Fleet, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Shenandoah's record now sits at 13-9. As for Newcomerstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Shenandoah will take on Fort Frye at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newcomerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
