Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Falls Despite Big Games from Martha Jessop and Alysha Cooke

Water Canyon played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-26 to the Beaver Beavers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Beavers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Water Canyon's loss came despite strong showings from Alysha Cooke and Martha Jessop. Cooke almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards, while Jessop posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Cooke is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Water Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Beaver, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Water Canyon will host Parowan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Water Canyon is facing Parowan at the right time seeing as Parowan is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. Beaver has already played their next game, a 66-30 victory against Panguitch on the 24th.
