Recap: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Armwood Hawks
If the Hillsborough Terriers were feeling good off their 59-36 takedown of the Gaither Cowboys last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hillsborough fell just short of Armwood by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Hillsborough has suffered yet this season.
Loss or not, Hillsborough got some senior leadership from Deana Epps who scored 18 points and Jojo Cruz-Smartt who scored 15 points.
Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Armwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will face off against Alonso at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alonso will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 518th, while Hillsborough is ranked 190th). Armwood on the road again on Tuesday and play against East Bay at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
