Basketball Recap: Lincoln Piles Up the Points Against Prairie Central

There's no place like home for Lincoln, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They really took it to the Prairie Central Hawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-20 win. The match marked the Railsplitters' most dominant victory of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Hayes, who posted eight points and four steals. What's more, Hayes also posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabe Smith, who earned ten points and six steals.

Lincoln's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. As for Prairie Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-23 record this season.

Coming up, Lincoln will venture away from home to square off against Champaign Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prairie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
