Basketball Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short

Bear River suffered their closest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Mira Loma Matadors by a score of 53-50. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 50-43 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Bear River still got an impressive performance from Dylan Donley, who went 14 for 23 on his way to 32 points and five rebounds. Donley's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Milami, who posted ten points.

Bear River dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mira Loma, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-8.

Bear River will venture away from home to face off against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.3 points per game this season. As for Mira Loma, they will host Wheatland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mira Loma is facing Wheatland at the right time seeing as Wheatland is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
