Softball Recap: St. Pius X Takes a Loss

St. Pius X lost against Lovington on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Sartans fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Sartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Pius X saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Diamor Ibarra-Villegas, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

St. Pius X's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Lovington, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

St. Pius X will square off against Belen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.44 runs per game on average), something the Sartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lovington, they will challenge Dexter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
