Soccer Game Preview: Smyrna vs. St. Mark's

The Smyrna Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Mark's Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smyrna's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Smyrna fought the good fight in their overtime game against Sussex Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Knights by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Smyrna have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, St. Mark's faced Padua Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Spartans skirted past Padua Academy 4-3. St. Mark's haven't had any issues with Padua Academy recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

St. Mark's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Smyrna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
