Soccer Game Preview: North Eugene vs. Sandy

The North Eugene Highlanders will challenge the Sandy Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (North Eugene 0.2, Sandy 0.5) so any goals scored will be well earned.

North Eugene barely beat La Salle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Highlanders' defense stepped up to hand the Falcons a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. North Eugene's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

While Sandy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-9-2), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Sherwood by a score of 2-0 on Thursday.

Sandy's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for North Eugene, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-0.

North Eugene took their win against Sandy in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
