Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Central York

Central York entered their tilt with Red Lion on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 on April 9th.

Elizabeth Ferrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Weigle, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Central York pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Red Lion, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central York will square off against Warwick at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Red Lion, they will challenge Wilson at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
