Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeview Panthers vs. Wolfson Wolfpack

The Ridgeview Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Wolfson Wolfpack at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Ridgeview will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Ridgeview took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Ribault 17-2. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ridgeview got a big performance out of Christopher Beal, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was Beal's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tripp Hoffine, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Ridgeview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Baldwin hit Wolfson with a seven-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolfpack lost 12-2 to the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wolfpack couldn't push the score so high this time.

Wolfson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Edwards, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ridgeview's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Wolfson, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Ridgeview might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Wolfson in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
