Basketball Game Preview: Taylor's Crossing Eagles vs. Mackay Miners

Taylor's Crossing is 0-4 against Mackay since February of 2022 but things could change on Saturday. The Taylor's Crossing Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Mackay Miners at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Taylor's Crossing beat Alturas Prep 53-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Mackay waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Chiefs by a score of 52-43.

Mackay's win came from a few key players Taylor's Crossing will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryker Summers, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Holt, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Mackay's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Taylor's Crossing, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Taylor's Crossing came up short against Mackay in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 59-49. Thankfully for Taylor's Crossing, Ruger Nicholls (who went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
