Basketball Game Preview: Devine Warhorses vs. Carrizo Springs Wildcats

The Devine Warhorses will venture away from home to square off against the Carrizo Springs Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Devine will be strutting in after a win while Carrizo Springs will be coming in after a loss.

Devine will head into Tuesday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Uvalde on Tuesday. Devine was the clear victor by an 81-58 margin over Uvalde. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warhorses as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Carrizo Springs was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 66-62 to Pleasanton. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 16-9 in the first quarter.

Devine's win bumped their record up to 12-14. As for Carrizo Springs, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.

Devine and Carrizo Springs were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but Devine came up empty-handed after a 56-55 loss. Can Devine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
