Basketball Recap: Central Valley Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Central Valley Christian Academy lost against Hawaiian Mission Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Central Valley Christian Academy Mavericks received a blow as they fell 57-43 to the Hawaiian Mission Academy Knights. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hawaiian Mission Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailana Tavares, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Slade, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Central Valley Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hawaiian Mission Academy, their record is now 6-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Valley Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Liberty Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Hawaiian Mission Academy, they will challenge Hawaii Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
