Volleyball Recap: St. Edward Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Jackson

St. Edward faced Jackson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Polar Bears. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Polar Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Jackson scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17.

Despite the loss, St. Edward still got an impressive performance from Davion Tan-Nguyen, who had 16 digs and two assists. Tan-Nguyen has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more digs the last three times he's played.

St. Edward's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Jackson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

St. Edward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Mentor on the 11th. As for Jackson, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Independence on the 12th.
