After a string of four wins, Willard's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Republic Tigers and fell 68-33. The match marked Willard's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Willard's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2. As for Republic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Willard will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kickapoo at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Kickapoo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Willard likes a good challenge. As for Republic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-49 win against Bolivar on the 30th.
