Football Recap: Manatee Comes Up Short

Manatee was the 34-27 winner over Buchholz when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hurricanes took a 30-13 bruising from the Bobcats on Friday. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Manatee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ronin Dangler made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.

Chris Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Buchholz.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Buchholz, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manatee will host IMG Academy Junior National at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buchholz, they will welcome Richmond Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
