Basketball Recap: The Meadows School Mustangs vs. Sunrise Mountain Miners
The Meadows School had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sunrise Mountain Miners.
Despite the loss, The Meadows School still got an impressive performance from Uzo Nwapa, who posted 29 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Moses, who had 12 points.
Leading Sunrise Mountain to victory were Amari Carroll and Alyo Hawkins Jr.. Carroll shot 45% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Hawkins Jr. earned 11 points along with seven assists and five steals. The Meadows School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-33 victory against Green Valley on the 2nd. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have also already played their next game, an 82-77 loss against Legacy on the 2nd.
