The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles will face off against the Crisp Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vidalia Heritage Academy has five straight wins, Crisp Academy has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Vidalia Heritage Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Westwood, who was ranked 17th at the time (Vidalia Heritage Academy was ranked third). The Eagles blew past the Wildcats, posting a 53-14 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four games by 39 points or more so far this season.
Jake Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 267 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 102 yards and one score on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Dylan Green, who picked up 114 receiving yards and three TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vidalia Heritage Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 223 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Another reason for the win was Vidalia Heritage Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Wayne Richardson was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 himself.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Crisp Academy faced off against Grace Christian Academy on Friday. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 35-6. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Vidalia Heritage Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Crisp Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Vidalia Heritage Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Crisp Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 32-24. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
