Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Oxbridge Academy and King's Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Oxbridge Academy had to settle for second. They fell 4-1 to the Lions. The ThunderWolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

Aubrey Vital spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Oxbridge Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiya Glucksman, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

The loss snapped Oxbridge Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-7 record. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Oxbridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King's Academy, they will challenge John Carroll Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
