Woodlan is a perfect 9-0 against Southern Wells since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Woodlan will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Woodlan not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 19-1). They blew past South Adams 12-3.

Jordan Halsey made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs. Woodlan is undefeated when Halsey posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drew Fleek, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. He has become a key player for Woodlan: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Adams, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Woodlan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Southern Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Jay County, falling 10-4.
Rugar Holmes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
Woodlan's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Southern Wells, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woodlan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southern Wells struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Woodlan beat Southern Wells 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
