Greater South Shore recap September 4, 2013

Calumet and Clark played the most contested game in Greater South Shore this week, with Calumet eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory.

Wheeler lost to Griffith 43-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Jono Bigger threw for 343 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 22-40 with 2 interceptions.

Evan Rodriquez was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 92 yards on 7 carries as Whiting topped Gavit. Jesse Maynard also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.

Bigger put up the best numbers through the air as North Newton lost to Rensselaer Central. Bigger's favorite target this week was Schuyler Gargano, who caught 4 passes for 102 yards.

Gibbons was the best wideout in the league this week as the Oilers defeated the Gladiators. Gibbons tallied 11 receptions for 146 yards. Keegan Rooke helped Whiting's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 94 yards.

An important game coming up this Greater South Shore this week will be when Whiting takes on the Bearcats. Jeff Cain's team is in first place, while Wheeler is in fifth place.

The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,905 from 13,783. The advance stemmed from a 14-12 victory over the Pioneers last week.
