Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

Milford is 0-10 against Walnut Hills since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. Milford will square off against Walnut Hills at 7:15 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.

Milford will bounce into Friday's game after beating Kings, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles took down the Knights 64-47 on Tuesday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Knights are ranked 500th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Avery Pence, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brock Shuluga, who posted 11 points.

Milford was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are a perfect 8-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Walnut Hills waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-51 W against the Warriors. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Warriors on their court since December 2, 2022.

Walnut Hills now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Milford, their record now sits at 10-3.

Milford came up short against Walnut Hills when the teams last played back in January of 2025, falling 51-45. Can Milford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
