Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Holy Names Academy
The Roosevelt Roughriders won the last time they faced Holy Names Academy, and things went their way on Friday too. Roosevelt snuck past Holy Names Academy with a 58-52 win.
Roosevelt was led to victory by Emma Curtis and Jasmine Hall. Curtis scored 17 points along with six rebounds, while Hall scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Richardson, who scored six points along with two steals.
Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Holy Names Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will square off against Lakeside at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holy Names Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Foster at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Foster's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Holy Names Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
