Football Game Preview: Kaufman Lions vs. Greenville Lions + How To Watch

Kaufman will take on Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses dating back to last season for Kaufman and 11 for Greenville dating back to last season.

Things were looking good for Kaufman after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. The game between the Lions and Corsicana didn't end well, with the Lions falling 35-17. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 7-0 in the first quarter.

Despite the defeat, Kaufman got top-tier performance from Elijah Rose, who rushed for 193 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Rose is now averaging an impressive 114.2 rushing yards per game.

Kaufman didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dominik Carrillo and Brayden Gomez.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Greenville took on Terrell on Thursday. The Lions took a blow against the Tigers, falling 76-28. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while the Tigers are ranked 48th).

Kaufman's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Greenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Kaufman against Greenville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 41-8 victory. Will Kaufman repeat their success, or does Greenville has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
