Basketball Recap: Oakleaf Gets the Win

Oakleaf lost to Ponte Vedra back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Oakleaf Knights skirted past the Ponte Vedra Sharks 59-56. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Several Sharks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddox Palmer, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Westercamp, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Oakleaf is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakleaf will take on St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ponte Vedra, they will square off against San Jose Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
